Using
plugins from TPRS
What are plugins?
Plugins are extra programs that either come with TPRS, or can be
attached to the system.
How do I access them?
To try one, highlight the stand object,
and then select "Wilding risk estimator" from the "Available plugins"
menu above the left hand panel.

This plugin estimates the likely risk of wildings. It's intended
for use in the South Island high country primarily. It receives
information from your records when it is run, and presets some of the
menus accordingly. For instance, in the example shown, it
selected "Pinus radiata" from the species menu, and also preselected
the best option from the siting menu. You can select downwind
management options from the lower two menus and it will provide you
with an estimate of the wilding risk.
How do I know when a plugin is available?
TPRS comes with plugins for species selection, wilding risk, a growth
and yield model, stand inventory
analysis, and district council
regulations. As different
plugins naturally work at different levels in the element hierarchy,
different plugins will be available when different levels are selected
in the left hand panel. You will know when plugins are available
because they appear in the plugins menu when you select the approriate
record level in the left hand panel.
The inventory analysis plugin allows you to conduct analyses of
inventories to measure your woodlots. This plugin requires its
own set of instructions for collecting data, adding data to TPRS, and
using the program. A link will appear in this manual very shortly
that will explain how to do this.
Can I add my own plugins?
If a piece of software is configured to run from the command line with
command line arguments, or if it has been specifically designed to work
with TPRS then you can attach it as a plugin. See the TPRS help
system for information about how to do this.
