Conjoint Degree Programmes

For those students with a desire to combine studies in Forestry with studies in Commerce or Science, a concurrent degree programme is possible. Under this programme, it is possible for a student to graduate with two degrees in a much shorter time compared to doing the degrees separately. For example, it is possible to complete the Bachelor of Forestry Science and a Bachelor of Commerce in five years.

Students interested in the concurrent degree programme contact the Dean of Engineering and Forestry, at engineeringdean@canterbury.ac.nz.

Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Forest Engineering

The B.E.(Hons) in Forest Engineering degree comprises courses drawn from the Engineering departments and the School of Forestry. The forest industry has been enthusiastic about the need for this degree, and the Institution of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ) will recognise graduates as members of that Institution and as Registered Engineers.

See Forest Engineering website for more details.
