Scholarships
A variety of scholarships are available for tuition, travel expenses, etc. Though competition can be keen for some scholarships, don't let this put you off! It is to your advantage to apply for as many as possible, and your chances of getting one may be better than you think.
Check the University scholarship noticeboard - all available scholarships are advertised and updated every month.
The Scholarships' section in the Registry have application forms etc and will help you with any further information you may require. Please contact The Scholarships Office, Telephone: +64 3 364 2987 ext 8964, scholarships@canterbury.ac.nz. Typically, deadlines for applying are October of any given year but there are variations. You should be looking into this issue from June or July each year.

1st Year Fees Scholarships
A range of first year part-fees scholarships will be available for students wishing to enrol in Forestry Science or Forest Engineering in 2010.
Up to twelve scholarships of $1000 each will be offered by the School of Forestry. In addition, there are two emerging leaders’ scholarships and the likelihood of further scholarships funded by industry.
Another three scholarships are offered for people not already enrolled in Forestry to enter into Forestry degrees at second or subsequent years of the degree.
The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit or special need. Full details of the scholarships and application procedures are available now.
